Whether you’re using Dell memory or Apple memory on your current laptop, I would say that it’s not just based on the brand you’re using. laptop memory will always require expansion at some given point in time. Starting with Microsoft itself, whether it is vista, XP or 2000, it still requires memory of at least 256mb or to be sure it works just right, I say go for 500mb. Considering all the programs and applications that you plan to upload to its system, you can expect to go over what your current unit can accommodate. The best thing about it is that you don’t have to spend too much by asking a computer technician to do the job for you. There are many user-installable upgrading kits available online and you can obtain plenty of technical support from the sites that offer it. You just have to find out how much memory you’re going to need. If it’s the basic stuff, or if you’ll be editing images or videos or maybe advanced graphics, you have to gauge how much memory that will need.
